Dr. Georg A. Breisach, President – Golfclub Schloss Frauenthal – Styria

A round of Golf in Frauenthal begins with 9 holes within a castle park and ends in the heart of the West Styrian hills. Perfectly positioned greens and numerous water hazards demand precision and strategic play. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, you won’t get bored at this course.
The golf club was founded in 1988 in the idyllic village of Frauental, south-west of Graz in Styria. It began with a driving range but short after the first 9 holes in the castle park were opened.

Just a few years after, the golf course grew to its full size and beauty. The second 9 holes within a marvelous mixed forest were added in 1999. What is needed here is not length, but precision because of it’s hilly character.

The combination of the completely contrasting front and back nine may have been one of the reasons why Team Frauenthal ended the 2003 season as Austrian team champions!

Not to forget, the heart of the lovingly and lavishly maintained course beats in the clubhouse. The cosy restaurant spoils guests with cuisine ranging from down-to-earth to Mediterranean. The matching wines complement the culinary experience after your round.
